Adults

Adults Have Fun at the Library Too!!!

Thank all of you who participated in the Adult Summer Reading Program, “Water Your Mind.”

Ongoing Adult Programs:

  • Spring and Fall Book TALK discussions led by Kansas Humanities Council speakers
  • Genealogy group–1st Thursdays at 1 p.m. Sept. through May
  • Brown Bag book discussion group–2nd Mondays at 12 p.m.
  • Adult Summer Reading Program–June and July

Brown Bag discussion group–Titles are chosen monthly and provided through Interlibrary Loan to members (although sharing may be required).  We discuss mostly fiction from a variety of genres, but occasionally also discuss non-fiction and classic.  Call Carol at the library for more information or to sign up.  We welcome new members.

Genealogy group–About every other month we have a session during which problems or successes from members’ own research are discussed.  We also have speakers, go on field trips, and conduct workshops during the year.  Call Carol at the library for questions or drop in to a regular meeting.  You’ll be welcome.

If you would like to volunteer to help us record obituaries, anniversaries, births, and marriages from the Augusta newspapers from the present back to the 1800’s give a call or come in and talk to us.  Ask for Lynne or Carol.  We’d be happy to show you how to help.

The genealogy group will resume its meetings at 1 p.m. on the first Thursday in September.   Call the Library for further information 775-2681.

Book Talks–These are co-sponsored by the library and the Kansas Humanities Council.  A fall series and a spring series of books on a given theme are discussed during each session.  Watch for flyers in the library or postings on this site for more information.

Upcoming Events–Check the posts on the home page or call Carol at the library.
